Audi C5 Allroad Articulation Test
Greg was curious what the difference in articulation was between the air suspension being in lvl 2 vs lvl 4 on his Allroad. The result was pretty interesting!

2010 Husaberg FE570 Fixed!
Переглядів 1803 місяці тому
Quick follow-up video after the fail showcasing the 570. As it turned out Greg pinched the kill switch wire when installing the turn signals, which grounded the wire preventing the bike from starting. An easy fix and now everyone gets to hear the bike running ;)

Jeep Commander OM642 Diesel Charging Issues SOLVED!

Video showing some people how I solved some charging issues with my 2008 Jeep Commander with OM642 diesel engine. Quick summary: The diesel engine stopped charging. Would charge at idle rpm, but any more rpm it wouldn't. I purchased and installed a replacement alternator. Unfortunately I failed to realize the replacement alt had two pins in the signal plug vs the old alt having one pin. The new...

Some 2009/2010 bikes also had fuel pump issues. I had mine fail 3 months after buying it brand new but fortunately got it changed by the dealer. That was 13 years and almost 500 hrs ago and been fine since.
nice video bro. love the rig. I have wh or in US/Canada wk1 with the 3.0 diesel. love that engine. enjoy the crd!
I have a Allroad to but in new Zealand that car can tackle the harsh of terrains shot heaps of deer with her love Allroad
Buena conversión felicidades.
I just love this smoke must have smell sooooooo good
Please remove completely the annoying background music and your vid will be perfect.
What kind of final gear ratio do you have on your XK? I know WK 3.0 CRD have 3.55 in Laredo and 3.73 in Liminted or North(towing package). I found 3.73 trasmission feels like have diabled sprag on OD( AKA tow mode all the time), while 3.55 trasmission feels like coasting all the time, and there is significant differnce in fuel economy too. Anyway, great project, i might want to do one next year!
What kinds of faults in the diesel electronics would command illumination of the SERVICE NOW or SERVICE SOON tell-tales ?
All the time and money you spent doing that negated any fuel saving you will ever get. Wasted energies.
Even the speedometer can hardly make it all shaken.
Would you sell this? lol
You should still learn a lot how to drive on off road.
The slowness was worth it for the extra MPGs. The 4.1L V8 gas engine was originally rated at 14 city 19 highway 16 combined average. The 5.7 V8 diesel was originally rated at 23 city 37 highway 27 combined average. I'd like to hear from someone who actually owns the diesel if that rating is accurate though. I'm sure it gets much better fuel mileage than the gas engine but 37mph highway seems pretty high. If it really got that much I'd find one and daily drive it!
I always liked the late 70s-80s GM Diesels. It's too bad they had so many problems at the start which gave them a bad reputation. A big old land yacht that could get 30mpg!
fun test. I noticed that it’s most comfortable to drive on light off-road conditions at level 2 or 3; the suspension handles especially softly in any wet mud. and grips better without falling off the top of the track. It’s also interesting that the height of the 60 tires also fits into the arch. I thought that no more than the standard 225 55 is suitable. You have interesting videos from off-road, I didn’t think that Allroad was capable of this
I love these GM diesels and the body styles from back then I think they’re great cars. I owned about five different ones a couple of three old mobiles couple of Chevrolet never a Cadillac but didn’t have any problems with my diesels.
I like that Cadillac with the things so I think I have never had one with to do so before but I like that one I wish I had one
What would happen if you disconnected the sway bars.
Whenever I think my '82 Firebird 305 auto is slow, I remember there's cars like this, and then there's cars that are somehow even slower
Try to find a 1982 camaro. 2.5 4 cylinder coupled to the 3 speed auto. . The chevy citation was faster. Yeah same drivetrain but the citation was way lighter. Lol.
0-60 with an Olds Diesel!!!!!!?????? I'm very surprised that it could reach 60 MPH to begin with!!!!!
All I can hear is 'The French Narrator' from 'Spongebob' going 'Eventually.....' from Rock-A-Bye Bivalve.
Seems like it's quite quiet inside the cabin.
Sounds awful.
Great video but I'm confused by you saying its blue plated i.e. street legal, but you had to add signal lights, so was yours the FE 570 S or the plain FE 570 (no 'S')? In Canada I'd have thought they come with signal lights from factory, or at least wired to install their lights kit, but you had to install your own wiring. Maybe yours came with the same rear 'signal lights' mine has, which really isn't a pair of lights at all but a tail/brake light that blinks on the left or right side of the single light, which I'd think shouldn't even be legal since how can someone behind tell which side is blinking? It's light weight and nothing to get ripped off but I may have to add separate signal lights which may be to do what you did. I was hoping I could just tie into the same wiring for the stock signal light in that 'one light does all' one but maybe you found that was impossible and it required separate wiring to be installed.
Mine is simply FE570, no "s". It was registered for the street already when I bought it, even though it didn't have signal lights or mirrors etc. I suspect when the bike was new it was registered for the street using a fake safety; hence the missing accessories. It did already have brake lights from both brakes.
Zero oil pressure.
Hello from France, very impressive job ! I’m the happy owner of a 08 Commander with the same engine and I understand your choice 😊 ! Just a question, how did you install the winch ? It’s seems very well integrated. Thanks !
sounds like a big rig
Got my answer! You still have the car! At least you are enjoying it, as it did have rust underneath back then but is still hanging in there!
Kudos to you for doing the wiring modifications, nice project. Too bad the stupid salt Ontario spreads on the roads with pleasure has taken a toll, vinyl tops are a car killer for sure. Also, being from Ontario myself, our classics, not used in winter, get Fluid Filmed and professionally sprayed with Corrosion Free to keep any possible crap left on the roads from doing the dirty deed. I see this video is 2-years old, is the car still around? An uncle had a 1984 as well, but in a sort of copper color, it was a very plush car, going back many years.
Love these old diesel GM cars. GM as usual cheaped out on small, but vital things to make these a lot more reliable. This has been discussed at length. When running right, they were amazing especially on the highway for mileage. We had the 5.7 diesels in the family and well over 30 (imperial) miles per gallon was the norm during long distance drives. We had experience from past diesels (Mercedes, Peugeot) so we knew the increased maintenance diesels needed, plus water separators were added to the 5.7s. Oil changes were done maximum at 5000 km's - 3200 miles. Perhaps we were lucky, but never had a head gasket go, maybe the mainly long distance highway driving/constant speeds played a part, but it seems many other folks were having problems. Nice looking Cadillac!
wrong tires
Because diesel engines are slow . Its that simple.
Not anymore.
@@SBT300 still are , and always will be.
@@gertscheper9653 Nope.
@@SBT300 facts speak fot them self , so yes.
@@gertscheper9653 Now you're just trolling.
At least it works. Well in front of many cars. I read they weren't designed as a diesel. They converted a gasoline motor to run as a diesel. That was a mistake.
Seems surprisingly quiet for an old diesel
Probably weakened compression.
I am actually going to test compression, curious how much it's lost. When I had the oil pan off the cross hatching in the cylinders looked perfect so I suspect the engine is healthy, the transmission on the other hand...
0-60? Yes. Gas mileage? 1 hwy 0 city
Ya gotta manually hold it in lower gears and spin the engine up. The DX block in that '82 will survive the abuse and you will find untapped horsepower. Don't do it all the time, though I did and never had a bottom end failure. By 1982, the real weakness was the head gasket, the over-rated stanidyne injection pump, and the lockup converter. Oh yeah, the water pump has special small blades.... Do yourself a favor and drill a small hole in the thermostat so it can know how hot the water in the engine is so it doesn't need to slam open. This in some vehicles will prevent the slamming open of the thermostat once the head temps overshoot resulting in warped heads due to flash cooling.
Totally worth it! He can drop from 27 seconds 0-60 to 24 seconds!
Interesting! Ill try it out ;)
@@BoysToysAndAFarm Don't overdo it since there is no tach. Just spin it up some from where the trans would otherwise up-shift.
I’m mostly impressed that you have a running and driving example!
Swap a 425 in and you gonna get a nice quick car.
Well, it definitely did something
350 diesel?
They were a huge failure and set back diesels in the US by 20+ years. They basically tried to make a normal 350 block and heads do diesel duty. The biggest issue was the head gaskets blowing but they also had other issues. Once the news was out that diesels were bad, it was game over until German Autos came across sporting actual diesel engine designs. I honestly feel like we're still set back - turbo diesel was/is a great way to get plenty of torque and also have great economy at cruising speeds. Unfortunately, the USA is stuck on massive horsepower numbers and diesels typically spin low RPM, meaning low HP numbers despite insane torque figures.
I had a new 83 DeVille diesel. It was beyond slow. Okay in town, but useless on the highway. Pray for no hills.
27 seconds
Ok, but I bet it was comfortable.
Didn't know old school Caddys had an option for diesel
I was surprised...until I realized the speedometer is in km/h.
Yeah same
75hp max to the rear wheels..
It's more about Style, not speed.
Slow enough for a turtle to roll past you honking and flipping you off.
Add 5 seconds for speedometer error.
It doesn't accelerate, it simply 'advances'
its proceeding
